Shapes in the snow

Last weekend, big snowflakes filled the sky and silently adorned the dried stalks and leaves of Lilac and Maple trees, Black-eyed Susans, and Grape vines. The sky cleared briefly at sunset and the days began to feel just a little longer. Subtle, soft colours filtered through the bare trees and reflected on newly formed ice.
